My Holiday

Crrrr crack! My fun family and I were walking down windy wellington in our shoes. My mum told me to speed up a little cause I was as slow as a turtle. We arrived at this massive 4 floor museum named Te Papa. There were people filling the Museum from all directions. There was a tall lady standing in front of a fountain and she told us to put our bags in the bag area so we did. My family and I were now on the second floor. Then suddenly we were lining up in a BIG line to go to the Galipoli area. It was as big as 2 class rooms. Half an hour later we were in the Galipoli area. WOW! there was a big man statue in front of us. It was so realistic. It had the hair, eyes, skin colour, a dirty nose, wounds on the body, eye brows and whiskers. There were voices coming out of speakers that were on the wall. There were a whole lot of facts about them and old photos. But my FAVOURITE part was the little figures in their little trenches, eating and shooting. We carried on to hole where you look through with glass. You press a red button and the glass breaks. There was a statue of a nurse crying. It was soooo emotional. Also we had to grab a paper poppy and write a message to our loved ones. Finally we got told we could put it on our last statue or keep it. I put it with the last statue. MILLIONS of poppies filled the last statue. After that we sadly had to leave. We grabbed our bags and off we went!!

  1. Hi Jess

I like your simile you were as slow as a turtle.
You used time sequencing words like half and hour later.
How long were you down in wellington? Was it fun.

  2. That was a great day wasn't it Jess. It's nice to be reminded of our family holiday when I read your blog. I hope you're having a nice day at school.
