Procedure Writing

Procedure Writing!!  

Martin the Alien has arrived on Earth and he wants to know how to make a Healthy Hamburger. I have written a procedure, using the correct structure and language, to instruct Martin on how to make my favourite healthy hamburger.

              

Title: Healthy Hamburgers

Ingredients/Materials: Slices of tomatoes, Chopped up cucumber, grated cheese, peeled carrot, chips, splash of aoli, sesame bun, cooked meat pattie, grater, lettuce, cooked bacon.

Method:

1. First grab your bottom sesame bun.
2. Put your cooked meat patty on the bottom bun.
3. Grab your slices of tomatoes and slap it on.
4. Grate your cheese and carrot.
5. Put your grated cheese and carrot onto your hamburger.
6. Next put pieces of chips, any kind you want, onto the bun.
7. Grab your 3 layers of bacon and put on your hamburger.
8. Get some lettuce, rip it and gently and place onto the hamburger.
9. Chop up some cucumber and put on your hamburger.
10. Now , squeeze some aioli onto your hamburger.
11. Place on the top bun. Now you have a hamburger. EAT!!

Penguin Report

Animal Reports

I have been learning how to write an animal report using the correct language and structure.

Here is my animal report about Penguins.

Introduction

Penguins are birds that can’t fly.

Appearance

Penguins have webbed feet. They keep warm with feathers that cover their body. Penguins have a black back & a white front and they are plump. They have wings but they can’t fly. Also penguins have heavy bones so that they can stay under water. Their webbed feet are designed for swimming.

Diet

Penguins eat fish, squid and krill. Penguins mostly feed at day time. The can go deep to catch their food. King penguins have a curved beak so they can catch large squid.

Habitat

Two species of penguins live in Antarctica. Most Penguins are found in the Southern Ocean. Many penguins visit Antarctica in summer.

Reproduction

Penguins crawl to land to mate and breed. The father and mother take turns at looking after the egg for 2 months. Penguins use their beaks to dig up borrows. Female penguins lay their eggs in winter. The male penguin huddles with the egg to keep warm. Some penguins lay their eggs in borrows. Penguins lay 1 or 2 eggs. Baby penguins peck their way out with their egg tooth.

Conclusion

Penguins are endangered and people are trying to help them stay alive.

The nervous feeling inside of me was rumbling for ages. No!! it was my turn. My friends on the other side were cheering and yelling my name. Then we started! The cheering was getting louder. People were bobbing down. Yay I was coming 4th. Suddenly I failed….Nooo! I was disappointed. It came down to the final three. Then a person stopped and then lani stopped. Max was stilling going so he won!! Lani looked disappointed but giggley.

This is a example of my writing about adverbs.

Summer

Hhh, Ha Hhh. Slowly I stopped.  I could not stand the heat. My friend and I were on our way to the Taupo Bay dairy in the camp ground. My feet were completely stuck into the ground. Zooming past were cars threatening me. Finally my friend and I were there. Once we put our foot through the gate there were kids surrounding us. We were trapped. We managed to get through. Bravely we arrived at the dairy. Then the lady asked us what we wanted. The presure was on me.  Shyly I answered, “ Can I please have a fruju?” Then my friend ordered. Finally we zoomed out of the shop. Suddenly I remembered that we had to deal with the Kids…. Quickly we ran criss cross back to the camp site. We survived. YAY!

Adverbs

I have been learning how to use adverbs as sentence starters to make my writing more interesting.

Greedily Tylah stole 100 cakes from the bakery.

Loudly the dog barked at the cat up the tree.             

Excitedly she unwrapped her birthday present.
